Book Club

June 9th title: "Me Talk Pretty One Day" by David Sedaris. This adult bi-monthly book club is open to all. Meet to discuss titles within a chosen genre (i.e self-help, science fiction, romance etc). The challenge is 26 books, 26 quests in 52 weeks. For more information, please see a librarian. 

Story Time

Join us for Story Time on Wednesdays from 9:30-10:30am. This is FREE and educational program for children ages 0-5. Registration is not required. 

SV Reads Adult Program May 14-June 19th

SV Reads Adult Program features the book "Vikings in the Attic: In Search of Nordic America" by Eric Dregni. Particpants will receive a FREE copy of the book to read with the expectation that they will attend the author's powerpoint presenation at the Spring Valley Library on Tuesday, June 19th at 6pm. Teen Summer Reading Program Final Party

The Final Party for our Teen readers will feature a pizza party and prizes will be handed out at that time. Readnig logs must be submitted the day before on August 2nd so that library staff can prep prizes and have a head count for the pizza order. 

Summer Reading Program: Independent Readers Final Party

The Final Party for our Independent Readers will feature ice cream and the handing out of prizes.  Reading logs must be submitted the day before on August 2nd so that staff can tally up minutes and prepare prizes for the readers. 

Traveling Lantern performance of "The Life of Mozart"

The Traveling Lantern theatre troupe is back with a fun interactive play this summer titled "The Life of Mozart." Open to all ages. Registration is not required. 

Summer Reading Program: Independent Readers Midway Party

The Midway party is for all our Independent Readers who are half-way to their 1,000 minute reading goal! A Subway meal will be served and games will be played. In order for library staff to know how many Subway sandwiches to serve, readers must submit proof of their 500 minute reading mark by dropping off their reading logs by Thursday, July 5 at noon. If you have any questions, contact library staff.

Summer Reading Program Ice Cream Kickoff!

Come kickoff our Summer Reading Program with some ice cream sundaes! Reading logs will be available for pickup. Registration can be completed the day of the kickoff or beforehand by clicking on the "Programs" tab of our website and filling out the Independent/Read-to-Me or Teen registration form. 

Hill Billy Silly Science Show

Join us for some wacky science fun with Dr. Cletus Beaker who will provide great educational entertainment for all ages! The program will feature homemade volcanoes, cannons, optical illusions and so much more!
