Local music students of the surrounding Wilson/Woodville/Spring Valley area and their teacher, Michael Holz, will give a variety performance recital at Handy Andy park. Open to all ages this is sure to be a musical treat! Come out and support the budding talent of these students!
Local Community Folk Ceilidh group is back to play a Music in the Park summer program at Handy Andy Park. The group will play traditional Celtic songs and folk ballads. A free-will donation bake sale will be held with proceeds to go to the band. Join us for some summer fun! Due to inclement weather the location has been moved to the municipal building board room (the room across the hall from the library).

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is hosting the 2016 Summer Olympics and children will be learning about the olympics for our Summer Reading theme of health, wellness and fitness! Katia Esanbock of Spring Valley will be here to teach children about her home country Brazil and share some traditional food. This program is open to all ages. No registration is required.
Join us for a fun interactive song and dance event with John Duggleby the Chicken Man on Wednesday, June 22 at 10AM! An award winning author of 11 books and hundreds of magazine articles, John Duggleby grew up as a percussionist playing everything from orchestra tympani to garage band rock and roll. He now plays guitar for about 100 one-man acts a year for listeners of all ages and leads drum circles and kitchen bands for groups including seniors and disabled people. Open to all ages, this event is to sure to be a fun time!
On Thursday, June 16 at 6PM Teresa Romo from Country Retreat Home of Spring Valley, a certified health coach, will give an hour presentation on: the importance of exercise, the many different bodily functions dependent on water and why hydration is important, how essential proper diet is in order to obtain and maintain optimum health and, how to avoid foods that will compromise your health. There will also be a brief demonstration on the different ways essential oils are used.
This is a FREE event and open to all. Registration is not necessary.
Join us on Wednesday, June 15 at 10AM for a special visit from Bosko, a Bernese Mountain dog! Bosko's owner, River Falls native Dan Woll will read aloud from his children's book "Sarah Saves the Day" co-authored with his daughter, Shelley. Children are guaranteed to have a fun time meeting Bosko who is in training to be a certificed therapy dog! Copies of "Sarah Saves the Day" will be available for purchase and each purchased book will receive a personal pawprint stamp from Bosko.

These areas have high concentrations of 100-yr olds and clusters of people who had grown old without disesases like heart problems, obesity, cancer, or disbetes.
As our Summer Reading Program draws to a close, the Library will host an Awards Party for the top Independent Readers of the Sumemr Reading Program. Prizes will be handed out to the winners and snacks provided. Come and celebrate the acheivements of our readers!
Come to the Library for a FREE and FUN performance of the interactive play "Vladimir Goes for the Gold!" Young Vladimir is a champion Badminton player and prepares to compete at the Olympic games. The night before his big day he dreams he is in Ancient Olympia where he learns about the first Olympic games. Performed by actors from Traveling Lantern, children and adults alike will greatly enjoy this year's performance. Open to all ages!
