History of Spring Valley Presentation by Don Blegen - local historian

Come to the library and hear local Spring Valley historian Don Blegen as he speaks about the settling and development of Spring Valley and shares historic photos and references that he and his late brother Doug gathered. This is FREE event and open to all. Come and learn about our town!

Life in the Lumber Jack Camps: American History presentation

Bill Jamerson, historian and songwriter, will be visiting the SV Library to bring history to life with songs, true stories, and video clips on the logging culture of America. Bill Jamerson has written books and created programs for PBS and has performed at the Eau Claire Paul Bunyon Museum for their chainsaw carving shows. This program is FREE and open to all ages! Come and learn about America's past and the logging work of early American immigrants!

Traveling Lantern performance of "The Ribbles Build a Residence"

The popular traveling acting troupe is back to perform the play "The Ribbles Build a Residence"! ThIS program is FREE and open to all ages. 

Synopsis of the Play: 

Soon after their lovely insect nuptials Mr. and Mrs. Ribble are expecting a baby Ribblet, and they need a new home for their family! Mr. Ribble wants to go big with a four grasshopper garage, but Mrs. Ribble convinces him to build a dream home that is more environmentally and neighborhood friendly. 

Lumpa World - STEM Activity for Kids

Registration is required for this fun STEM activity led by MN STEM school teacher Peter Johnson for grades 2-6. Children under 8 require adult supervision and assistance for this program. Children will be divided into teams and will need to race each other in constructing various modes of transporation with craft supplies, such as marshmallows, toothpicks etc., in order to get their people "home" first before the other teams. More details to come soon!
