Though they were born and raised on farms just miles apart in western Wisconsin, Burleigh Grimes and Andy Pafko couldn't have been any more different. Grimes was a combative, spitballing pitcher who was quick to quarrel or even throw a punch. He played for seven teams over his 19-year career and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1964. The likable Pafko was a five-time All-Star, having played for the Cubs, Dodgers and Braves.
